Université Bourgogne Franche-Comté (UBFC) is a community of universities and institutions, which gathers seven higher education and research institutions:
The proximity between universities and schools allows to a multidisciplinary, high-quality training offer, in link with research in recognised specialisation fields.
UBFC offers 16 English-taught Master’s Degrees in a wide range of scientific research fields. The Master’s programmes are open to every students from all around the world.
UBFC has numerous partnerships with universities across the world. It has also developed Master’s degrees in common with highly ranked education institutions on a worldwide scale. UBFC also benefits from the Erasmus+ Charter for Higher Education for the 2021-2027 period.

UBFC also provides scholarships for talented foreign students.
In 2020, 60% of UBFC Masters’ programmes students were from abroad, originating from over 50 different countries.
UBFC provides three Graduate Schools offering integrated international master’s-doctorate programmes and supported by world-renowned laboratories and research teams.
Joining a UBFC Graduate School allows Master's students to join a curriculum that is compatible with other programmes anywhere in the world, promotes interdisciplinarity and integrates project-oriented teaching practices.
Within a Graduate School, students are in direct contact with research teams, including doctoral students via tutoring. Students also benefit from a mentoring programme in order to develop their professional network.
UBFC's master's programmes have been awarded the ISITE label of excellence, a highly selective and competitive label given to universities that succeed in working with research organizations on joint projects.
Located in the northeast of France, the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region is known for its natural, cultural and gastronomy resources. Coveted by tourists from all over the world, this singular region also deserves to be known for its economic dynamism.
The region is located next to Switzerland, with which it shares 200 km of borders, less than 2h30 North of Lyon and 3h East of Paris. This geographic position places it at the heart of Europe, and confers it a number of assets in different sectors such as energy, steelworks, optics, chemistry, or the agri-food industry.
Masters’ programmes take place in three cities: Belfort, Besançon and Dijon.
