We've been helping students find the right postgraduate course for over a decade.
Our postgraduate students absorb themselves in what they love. They improve the futures of people, animals and the planet, whilst developing their own expertise and careers.
Our world-class facilities and expertise offer unrivalled learning opportunities. Our small class sizes and personal teaching approach means you’ll get the support you need to succeed.
We’re proud to be in the top 5 UK universities for postgraduate student experience and employability (Postgraduate Taught Experience Survey, 2018 – under 30 year olds).
You can choose from taught and research master’s degrees, as well as PhDs, in animal, agriculture, equine, sport and veterinary subjects.
You’ll be able to develop your skills on a rural 360-hectare campus as part of a passionate community of almost 4,000 students.
You’ll benefit from access to some of the most advanced facilities in the world at an educational institution, on a campus that’s received over £50 million investment in the last 10 years. Home to nine specialist businesses, it provides the ideal professional learning environment for you to absorb yourself in postgraduate study.
From world-renowned rider performance and canine therapy centres, to an anti-gravity treadmill and high-altitude hypoxic chamber, as well as amateur and elite athletes competing across our 10 performance Sports Academies, you’ll have everything you need to help you get ahead.
You’ll also find over 70 domestic and non-domestic species on campus, a commercial livestock and arable farm, and a busy events calendar including three international equestrian events each year.
We’re the only educational institution in the UK with its own Championship rugby team – Hartpury RFC – and Gloucester Rugby is based on campus. We also support Olympic equestrian champions to prepare for competition. You could get involved with these projects too.
Our reputation in our specialist industries attracts teaching and coaching staff from across the globe. You’ll learn from lecturers who are also practising professionals. This includes top coaches, trainers, scientists, behaviourists, nutritionists, veterinary professionals, psychologists and more.
Our students and staff share best practice developments at global conferences, publish in big-name academic journals and feature in national and international media.
You’ll be supported to achieve your unique goals through small class sizes and opportunities to tailor modules and projects by your interests and aspirations.
Our PhD students assist in teaching, work with students on live research projects and produce new research, which informs our curriculum. Our MRes degrees are unique – you can choose to undertake your research in any one of our specialist areas, providing we can supervise it.
We even offer paid teaching and research assistant roles alongside studies to strengthen learning and experience in specific areas, and provide a helpful wage.
We’ll consider you for a course if you have worked to a high level in industry, even if you don’t have relevant subject qualifications. Our programmes are offered flexibly to fit around commitments, including work, family and sport.
