This program provides students with a foundation in international relations, as well as exposure to questions relating to the study of international security and the global economy. International relations training is combined with regional expertise in the study of the European Union, East Asia, the Middle East and the post-Soviet space. The program offers an innovative, dynamic learning environment with small class sizes and an interdisciplinary curriculum.

Department of International Relations

The department combines multidisciplinary study of international relations with area expertise. The programs equip students with the analytical skills to capture the complexity of global and regional politics, and also with the practical skills required on the job market. Our faculty members are trained in international relations, political science, law, economics, sociology and history.

Career Paths

Coming from more than 70 countries, most of our master’s graduates work in international organizations, business, political consultancy and journalism. Doctoral graduates hold teaching or research positions in academia or work in the private sector.

Nationalism Studies Program

This program addresses issues of nationalism, self-determination, state formation, ethnic conflict, minority protection, language and citizenship rights, and constitutional design in modern and contemporary societies. It encourages critical and interdisciplinary approaches to the study of nationalism and provides students with a theoretical and methodological background in applied social sciences.

Career Paths
