Ethics, sustainability and responsible business
Students will learn to apply concepts in ethics and sustainability throughout the program, beginning with the first core course, MBA 641: Responsible Manager. Though normally a two-year, 45-credit program, the MBA may be completed in as little as 16 months by taking summer classes. Students with an undergraduate degree in business may be exempted from up to 9 credits (with replacement) of core courses.

The world's only MBA program that fully integrates the Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA) Body of Knowledge™ into its curriculum - offered in two cities.

Offered through Concordia's Goodman Institute of Investment Management, this program's combined curriculum permits students to study towards two world-recognized designations simultaneously. Offered in Toronto and Montreal, our program prepares students to write all three levels of the CFA® exams while completing an MBA. Courses are taught Wednesdays from 6:30 - 9:00 pm and Saturdays from 9:00 am - 3:00 pm in order to accommodate students’ work schedules.

CFA Designation

Regarded as a passport to entry or advancement within the investment management profession, the Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA) designation is recognized worldwide as the gold standard of the business community and is synonymous with the highest level of competence, investment knowledge, professional ethics and corporate standards.

Program details

Two of the world’s great cities. Two world-recognized designations. One world-class program.

Students can take the program in downtown Montreal or in the heart of Toronto’s financial district, with courses taught simultaneously in both cities. Professors travel from one city to the other, allowing face-to-face interaction every second week for all students. The two cohorts are linked through video-conferencing, so students get the opportunity to expand their network beyond the group residing in their city

Our program is structured to accommodate our students’ work schedules, the requirements of the CFA charter and the course study workload of graduate level studies. Classes are held Wednesday evenings (18:30 – 21:00) and all day Saturdays (09:00 – 15:00). Our class sizes are limited to a maximum of 30 students per city.

Chartered Professional Accountancy Designation

The Chartered Professional Accountancy (CPA) Order was created in May 2012 following the unification of the accounting profession in Quebec. It results from a merger of the Ordre des comptables agréés (CA), the Ordre des comptables généraux accrédités (CGA) and the Ordre des comptables en management accrédités (CMA). The Order thus represents all the areas of expertise of the profession—assurance, financial accounting, management and management accounting, finances and taxation —at the service of enterprises, organizations and the public.

The CPA Order comprises over 36,000 members and 7,000 future CPAs. By combining its distinctive forces under a single order, the Quebec accounting profession strengthens its position both nationally and internationally.

Integrated. Inter-disciplinary. Applied.

Supply chain management (SCM) is about bringing an integrated approach to operations management, logistics, procurement, and information technology to manage materials, inventory and goods from their points of origin to their points of consumption.

Our program provides students with an inter-disciplinary perspective, exposing them to a number of business and engineering areas, including marketing, industrial engineering, statistics, finance, change and stakeholder management and information systems.

Why MSCM at JMSB?

-Our inter-disciplinary approach goes beyond looking at SCM from a strictly logistics-based perspective.
-We integrate all the supply chain stakeholders into our investigation of SCM: multi-tier suppliers, focal company, subcontractors, outsourced companies, business partners and customers, including distributors, wholesalers, retailers and ultimate consumers.
-An applied focus in SCM teaching and research is maintained throughout the program. A real-life SCM problem in the field will be tackled within the context of an applied research project.

Who is this program for?

Students from a wide range of backgrounds are welcomed to this program: supply chain management majors and minors, all other business and economics majors, as well as all engineering and science disciplines.

Where will this program lead to?

Graduates from our program will be particularly well positioned for careers in consulting, manufacturing, retail, logistics, distribution and software, as companies over the world are increasingly leveraging supply chain expertise to gain competitive advantage. The program will also provide a springboard for those students wishing to pursue a PhD.
