The ESMT Master's in Management (MIM) combines fieldwork in global companies with applied coursework and research on the latest business management theories. Admitted students have a variety of backgrounds during their bachelor's studies and use the time at ESMT to gain valuable knowledge and interdisciplinary experience on how to apply their previous expertise to economic and management problems.
The program is designed for students with any backgrounds, interested in global management. The courses are divided into two streams with a focus on international management. One stream is designed for quantitative decision analysts (Quantitative Business) and one stream for creative and strategic thinkers (Innovative Management). Depending on the stream, students can choose among four specializations:
Finance & Investments
Entrepreneurship & Innovation
Global & Digital Strategy
The MIM includes significant in-company experience for up to 11 months. You will complete an internship and projects in Germany or abroad. ESMT’s career services will work with you to find the right company placement, which can be conducted in a global corporation, a mid-size company or Berlin start-up. Committed companies so far include Allianz, Axel Springer, Barclays, BMW, Bosch, Daimler, Deutsche Bank, Deutsche Post DHL, EY, E.ON, Gazprom, McKinsey, Siemens and ThyssenKrupp.
Career management is an integral part of the MIM program with regular seminars built into the curriculum. From day one you will start working to improve your CV and interview skills. By the end of the MIM program, you will better understand how to plan your job search strategy, navigate your own career path, build and activate your own networks and negotiate your desired salary.
In addition to the soft skills necessary for your career, you will be able to learn directly from senior business leaders what it is like to work in various industries. You will meet with representatives from industry, logistics, consulting, and transportation sectors to name a few.
Please note that application deadlines for students from EU countries can be extended on a case by case basis.
