We've been helping students find the right postgraduate course for over a decade.
The NSIRC scholarships are offering five full tuition fee waivers for each course.
Every aspect of our Oil and Gas and Structural Integrity (Asset Reliability Management) MSc degree courses are delivered and based at the Cambridgeshire home of the National Structural Integrity Research Centre and TWI, both of which are focused on developing solutions to problems and advances for the future.
We aim to develop our graduates into a highly sought-after oil and gas engineering specialist with the skills to rapidly design and commission oilfield installations to meet energy demands. You'll find dedicated teaching and research laboratories including 15 million pounds worth of state-of-the-art equipment.
This MSc degree combines academic excellence with extensive, up-to-date industrial experience in solving a number of different multidisciplinary engineering problems essential to oil and gas sectors. This includes multiphase flow and flow assurance, petroleum production and design of oil and gas installations, offshore and onshore structural integrity analysis ranging from structural dynamics to fatigue and fracture. You will gain a sound understanding and in-depth knowledge of oilfield structural design, fabrication and installation.
Our oil and gas engineering MSc is delivered by multidisciplinary lecturers with a broad range of skills. You’ll also learn and work alongside leading engineering academics and industrial experts at TWI through workshops and visits to industrial sites such as oil and gas production sites or research centres.
Your work will be assessed through coursework, technical reports, research assignments, oral presentations, structured debates, individual and group projects, exams and your dissertation project.
The aim of this MSc course is to develop you into a highly sought-after industry-ready engineer with in-depth knowledge in the theory and practice of the science and technology of structural integrity, including state-of-the-art methodologies and techniques in inspection.
Brunel’s Structural Integrity (Asset Reliability Management) MSc degree is accredited by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE), The Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining (IOM3) and NAFEMS Composite Finite Element Analysis training.
The course has an Industrial Advisory Committee with senior members from major UK companies, who meet annually to review and advise on the course content and delivery to ensure our graduate have the knowledge and skills demanded by industry.
Comprising of eight modules and an industry-supported dissertation, the course has been designed for full or part-time students, as well as Continuing Professional Development (CPD) delegates. In parallel with your degree, you can work towards the internationally recognised Certification Scheme for Welding Inspection Personnel (CSWIP) Plant Inspector Level 2 qualification.
