From an MSc in Adult, Children’s or Mental Health nursing to an MA in Healthcare Practice, the University of Greenwich is at the forefront of research and innovation in the fields of health and social care with many published authors on our staff disseminating their expertise to enrich the student experience.

We are dedicated to inspirational learning, combining teaching with work placements and impactful research. We also offer clinical skills laboratories which replicate NHS wards, allowing trainee health professionals to get real hands-on experience.

We work closely with local NHS partners to assure the quality of practice-based learning and offer the opportunity to undergo placements with internationally renowned NHS Foundation Trusts such as St Bart's Health and Kings College NHS Foundation, as well as more locally based services in Lewisham & Greenwich NHS Trust and Maidstone & Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust.

Where appropriate our programmes offer graduate eligibility to apply for either the Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC) or Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).

Following the Outstanding result received by Ofsted for our primary Initial Teacher Training and the Good rating for our Secondary, Lifelong Learning and Early Years  Initial Teacher Training (ITT) sectors, the Department of Teacher Education was formed with the aim of becoming a centre of excellence and enterprise through partner led research.

Ofsted noted that ‘A consistent characteristic of trainees and Newly Qualified Teachers (NQTs) across all phases is their confidence in reflecting critically on their practice. They take the appropriate steps to ensure that they promote the learning and progress of the pupils and students they teach.’
