Home to some of the world's most historic and renowned universities, England is the most popular study abroad destination in the UK. Studying a Masters in England means following an internationally renowned degree format and gaining a globally respected qualification.
Famous for its association with ancient universities such as Oxford and Cambridge, England is also home to a wide range of other universities. You can choose to study at small and highly specialised institutions, or to experience the innovative modern postgraduate programs offered by some of Europe's most famous providers.
Whatever you study, you'll earn a high-quality qualification, recognised by education systems and employers around the world. You'll also have the chance to experience student life in famous cities such as London, York, Manchester or Bristol, taking advantage of all the entertainment, heritage and shopping experiences they offer.
The UK as a whole is the second-most popular study abroad destination in the world, with over 450,000 international students. The largest group of these (over 300,000) study at English universities.
Most English Masters programs require one year of full-time study or two years part-time. Some research qualifications, such as the MRes, can last longer, taking up to two years full-time study.
International students from outside the EU and the EEA pay more than domestic students to study in England. Average fees are between £5,000 and £6,000 per year on full-time courses.
EU and EEA students can study abroad in England without restriction. Other international students will need to apply for a visa with the support of their university.
