About Faculty of Educational Sciences

The Faculty of Educational Sciences at the Univeristy of Oslo is comprised of three departments and one research centre, along with administrative services and other subsections.

We aim to be a leading European faculty in educational sciences, particularly in areas such as the development of language and reading proficiency, learning in a digital world, social inclusion, teaching and learning across subjects, and in the measurement of learning outcomes in education.

Through research-based education, the Faculty's study programmes aim to provide students with high academic competence in their fields. The education should provide students with in-depth understanding and enable them to contribute to critical and systematic knowledge development and apply their competence in various societal arenas.

We aim to educate students with a lasting critical-analytical competence. The study programmess should enhance students' international experience and understanding, as well as their competence in utilizing knowledge.
