About the course

Develop your unique voice as a writer and storyteller in the context of the School of Performance and Cultural Industries’ outstanding research in the fields of contemporary performance practice, creative and adaptive writing, digital and intermedial art, audience studies and cultural policy.

On this course, you’ll think critically about narrative and storytelling in contemporary culture, developing your creative writing skills and knowledge across a range of genres, forms and media. You’ll have opportunities to pursue areas of interest, including tailored pathways in writing for theatre, performance, screen and new media.

Entry Requirements

A bachelor degree with a 2:1 (hons). Applications from a wide range of subject areas are considered, including: Business, Fine Art, Theatre, Politics, Sociology, Heritage Studies, media, journalism. Any social sciences or humanities degree subject is suitable for entry providing there is evidence of a passion for, and commitment to the course. Relevant work experience might be in areas that include: advertising or marketing; architecture, crafts, design (product, graphic, fashion); film, TV, video, radio, photography; IT, software and computer services; publishing; museums, galleries, libraries; music, performing and visual arts.

Applicants without a degree may also be considered.
