The Postgraduate Certificate in Veterinary Clinical Studies at the RVC provides the career-building opportunity for students studying outside the UK to undertake training in the RVC’s comprehensive clinical educational programme, including at the RVC’s leading hospitals. Each year, we offer places to students engaged in veterinary training around the world.

Some great advantages of the course:

  • A minimum of 28 weeks in the hospitals and practices linked to the RVC.
  • The opportunity to take placements at veterinary practices throughout the world.
  • Lectures, seminars and workshops led by world-class clinicians.

Working as a member of the clinical team, you will learn in small groups through observation, discussion and practical experience. While at the RVC, you will receive feedback on your clinical work each week and be formally assessed at the end of each clinical rotation. Mentors on external placements will also provide feedback on your work with them.

Further Details

  • The certificate is a 48-week programme.
  • Flexible start dates: typically three entry points per year (September, January & May) subject to availability.
  • Completion of the Postgraduate Certificate in Veterinary Clinical Studies leads to a Master’s level qualification, which could have an effect on your funding status for any further study. As university funding arrangements vary from country to country, please check with your local funding body if you have any concerns. The RVC cannot be held responsible for any changes to your funding status due to the completion of this award.

Testimonial

“…right from day one I have received a very warm welcome, which has continued amongst everyone that I meet. I have found the transition from St. George's a very smooth and easy one, due to the supportive staff and kind students alike. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time so far and I am sure that it is set to continue. I have been extremely impressed by brilliant clinical year clinicians and the rotations provided. Overall, I am so elated to have been given the fantastic opportunity to continue my education at the RVC, my family are also very proud of this; it is the best decision I have ever made.”
