About the course
This course aims to provide a therapeutic base for professionals who are working with children and adolescents. It will provide both the strategies and the underpinning theory for working with children and adolescents appealing to all professionals in this sector, e.g. teachers, counsellors, nursery nurses, social workers, youth workers etc. The course supports employability and career development in these fields. The theory will include developmental trauma, attachment theory and the theoretical background to therapeutic play as well as an opportunity to practice skills in therapeutic play and other appropriate interventions. The course is suitable for CPD and carries 20 credits at the postgraduate level in Counselling/Psychotherapy and other areas.
Entry Requirements
First Degree in a related field and/or a Graduate Diploma in Counselling or equivalent. Fluent oral and written English required.
