About the course

This one-year Master's programme in Theology and Religious Studies focuses on different professional fields, and you can choose between four different tracks:

  • Interreligious Studies (this track is given in English), looking at interreligious cooperation and communication;
  • Peace, Trauma and Religion (this track is given in English), where you will study peace and conflict studies;
  • Spiritual Care (this track is given in Dutch), where you will learn about spiritual care in healthcare institutions, prisons and the military;
  • Exploring a Discipline (this track is given in English), which allows you to explore one particular discipline such as Buddhism, Islam in the West, Biblical Studies or Digital Humanities.

Entry Requirements

In order to gain admission to one of our Master’s programmes, you will need to have at least a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited research university including at least three full years of academic study amounting to a minimum of 180 ECTS or equivalent.

Students with a Bachelor’s Degree in Theology or Religious Studies from a university abroad will only be admitted following an assessment of their degree by the admissions board.
