About the course
The Classical Mediterranean - MA/PGDip/PGCert is a postgraduate degree provided by the University of Leicester that covers the history and archaeology of classical antiquity. The course also investigates the role that classical antiquity plays in modern society. Students will learn how to critically engage with archaeological issues and debates, developing skills in data analysis from many sources. There are opportunities throughout the curriculum to develop practical skills and employability skills. After completing four modules, MA students will write a 15,000-word dissertation while PGDip students move on to complete two more modules.
Entry Requirements
2:1 degree in archaeology (or anthropology in North America) or classical studies. We will consider applicants who do not have a degree but have extensive professional archaeological experience. If you have a 2:1 degree in a different subject area we may make you a conditional offer on the basis of you first taking some of our undergraduate modules as 'bridging' courses.
