The 3-semester postgraduate program “The Technologies of Environmental Legislation” was approved by the Hellenic Ministry of Education on 20th March 2013. First intake of students will take place during the academic year 2013-14.
The aim of this program is to provide the necessary knowledge for graduates of theoretical disciplines, facing environmental legislation issues during their professional activities. It is envisaged that it will assist in the comprehension of the inter-relations of technology-ecology-legislation. Furthermore the PMP will contribute to: 1. The development and support of the comprehension-communication among engineers and professionals involved with legislation matters for the effective application of the environmental laws. 2. Creation of specialized scientists on the topics of the PMP 3. Advancement of scientific research on the topics of the PMP Holders of this postgraduate title will have a comparative advantage for EU posts or posts in International Bodies and Agencies, due to the increasing interest for the comprehension of environmental legislation and the technologies related to it.
This Masters program consists of four modules, each taught in two semesters. Each Semester module entails 13 three hours lectures, lab or field trips. The last semester is dedicated to the Master Thesis. The modules are: A. Technologies for Environmental Protection B. Natural Resources & Ecosystems Management C. Environmental Risk Assessment - Emergency Management D. Techniques for Environmental Management and Economic Valuation Completion of the postgraduate program requires a total of 90 ECTS units.
