Sustainable Agriculture


Course Description

A 2-years programme, where initially students follow courses (60 ECTS) to: i) be introduced in agroecology and environmental impact assessment; ii) familiarize with the certification systems of integrated and organic farming; iii) achieve management of biotic and abiotic resources in agriculture; iv) be exposed to latest findings in crop protection achieved with the use of molecular biology; v) get acquainted with bioclimatology and recycled soilless greenhouse production; vi) be exposed to innovation and communication in sustainable farming. In the 2nd year, students pursue a research thesis in one of the above modules leading to a MSc degree (120 ECTS).

Entry Requirements

Applicants must have a minimum of 4 years undergraduate studies in a discipline related to agronomy, plant sciences, biology, environmental sciences. The working language of MAICh is English. Selection is made on the basis of the files submitted by applicants and takes account of their academic results, professional experience acquired in the chosen field of specialization, reference letters and their competence in English. Approximately 15 full “in-kind” scholarships covering accommodation and board are offered to applicants.
