Student Profile(s)
Sue Barry
Sue Barry is a teacher with an undergraduate degree in Retail Marketing, she is now studying for her masters in Human Resource Management.
“I was attracted to LJMU by the course, its association with the Chartered Institute of Personnel and the opportunity to gain CIPD accreditation. Postgraduate study has been a little more challenging that I expected but the tutors are really great. They have a blend of academic and real life HR experience and have experience of teaching in many different areas.
One of the real highlights of the course has been the chance to mix with students on the International HR masters programme. Coming into contact with people from lots of different countries has proved very interesting.
In terms of academic assistance, study support provision has been available throughout the calendar. I am particularly interested in data analysis as I approach my dissertation, and assistance in this area has been very useful.
I would absolutely recommend Liverpool as a city to study in. It has so much to offer, is incredibly diverse and very much ‘alive’. I would advise anyone thinking of coming to LJMU for Masters-level study to take that leap into the unknown because once you are here you will be supported and will meet lots of other people in the same position. The tutors are here to help you succeed and there is lots of useful careers advice from industry professionals.”
