You’ll gain a broad understanding of international business and strategy, with core modules designed to give you a good grounding in economics and international business theory. You’ll also improve your skills in quantitative analysis to gain confidence in handling and analysing data, and explore the ways in which large amounts of data are used in business analytics.
During core modules you'll explore approaches to strategic management and strategies for organisations planning to enter foreign markets. You’ll also gain an understanding of research methods in international business and management studies – taught by expert researchers – and develop your professional skills in a range of different scenarios.
Throughout the year you’ll also be able to pursue your own areas of interest with your choice of optional modules.
Your research skills and subject knowledge will come together in the independent project you take towards the end of the year. You can either research a topic of your choice to complete a dissertation, or work on a consultancy project where you offer advice to an existing business, either individually or as part of a group.
You’ll take nine compulsory modules, including your dissertation.

We use a variety of teaching and learning methods to help you make the most of your studies. These will include lectures, seminars, workshops, online learning and tutorials.
Independent study is also vital for this course allowing you to prepare for taught classes and sharpen your own research and critical skills.
Assessment methods emphasise not just knowledge, but essential skills development too. You’ll be assessed using a range of techniques including exams, group projects, written assignments and essays, in-course assessment, group and individual presentations and reports.
Graduates are well-equipped with strong analytical knowledge and the skills to fulfil any strategy-related role. You will be prepared for a career in a range of strategic management roles within multi-national companies, government organisations, non-profit organisations and global management consultancies.
