This part-time, one-year Postgraduate Certificate programme aims to bring dentists up to date with the latest knowledge relevant to the clinical practice of special care dentistry.

About this degree

The programme aims to provide a grounding in basic practical and academic skills necessary for the contemporary practice of special care dentistry, identifying key concepts which underlie successful patient treatment, together with an understanding of the evidence base for special care dentistry and the ability to critically access scientific literature.

Certificate students undertake modules to the value of 60 credits.

The programme consists of two core modules.

Upon successful completion of 60 credits, you will be awarded a PG Cert in Special Care Dentistry.

Teaching and learning

The programme is delivered through a combination of lectures, tutorials, seminars, journal clubs and clinics organised by many of the scientists and clinicians of the institute and allied hospital.

The programme consists of 27 contact days, all Mondays.
