Course Description

MSc Services Innovation will provide you with in-depth knowledge and experience in services innovation and core supporting areas such as business models, business analytics and digital strategies.

Course outline

MSc Services Innovation will provide you with in-depth knowledge and experience in services innovation and core supporting areas such as business models, business analytics and digital strategies. You will develop the skills needed for the design and management of innovative business models, drawing on the latest research and industry-leading practice from the Advanced Services Group; the centre of excellence in research and practice on servitization and advanced services.

You will develop a knowledge and understanding of services innovation, through the study of business model innovation, business analytics, management consultancy, digital strategy and gamification. Informed by industry needs and current research, this course blends specific knowledge in services innovation and a range of professional skills. Methods of teaching include lectures and seminars. Most seminars will focus on problem-based learning or “learning by doing”.

Learning, teaching and assessment

You will be assessed through a mixture of examinations and coursework. The taught element of the programme is then complemented by a substantial piece of research leading to the completion of a dissertation.

Entry Requirements

A good UK honours degree (minimum lower second class), OR Equivalent overseas degree recognised by Aston University. As well as: Two professional references – at least one must be from an academic referee; An official academic transcript of your university grades to date; A completed application form. For International Students: An official academic transcript, with an official English translation, of your university grades to date.
