This new course, due to commence September 2016, is designed to meet the needs of a growing number of early and mid career professionals who are challenged with making their industry, organisation or own practice more sustainable or those wishing to re-focus their career and move into a job role that is related to the design, production or sale of responsible fashion products.
The course content has been developed with the active cooperation of key figures from the fashion industry. This programme is underpinned by cutting edge research and is based on our expertise in responsible business and sustainability.
About the Course
Course content will draw on the emerging global goals for sustainable development and Corporate Social Responsibility frameworks, focusing on the importance of sustainable innovation, resilient business infrastructure, sustainable industrialisation and equitable consumption patterns. Emphasis will be placed upon the imperative need of the global fashion industry to address the challenges of social, environmental and economic sustainability. This new course is intended to provide Industry leaders of the future with the knowledge, skills and confidence to direct responsible change.
The teaching is delivered via termly symposia . Teaching and learning will be supported by a programme of specialist guest speakers from both industry and academia.
Projects will include work-based learning supported by regular one-to-one tutorials.
