To implement evidence-based medical and public health practices, we need to study the efficacy and cost effectiveness of interventions on a local as well as a global scale.

The Research Master in Health Sciences – the only one of its kind in the Netherlands - is educating a new generation of healthcare researchers to be on the cutting-edge of healthcare innovation. Its goal: to train you to design, conduct and evaluate top quality, interdisciplinary research related to health sciences and healthcare in its local as well as global context
Why study Health Sciences Research in Maastricht? Possibility to develop your own profile in the domain of Health Sciences Research. Unique focus on healthcare innovation in both a local and global context. Strong emphasis on professional research skills such as critically assessing scientific publications and reports, and designing, implementing, statistically analysing, evaluating and reporting on your own research. Possibility to play an active role in faculty research, thanks to the programme's close ties with the different Research Institutes. Nine months of intensive practical training at your internship organisation.
1. a bachelor's degree issued by a Dutch or non-Dutch university in a relevant domain, e.g. health sciences; 2. a bachelor's degree issued by an Institute of Higher Vocational Education or University of Applied Sciences in the Netherlands (240 ECTS), Belgium, Germany, Austria or Switzerland (180 ECTS) in a relevant domain.
