The online MSc and PG Diploma in Real Estate Investment Finance have been designed for real estate professionals across all sectors as well as fund managers and investment bankers who would like to gain a better understanding of real estate as a financial asset in an investment portfolio. The programmes are practically based and offer the opportunity to share knowledge and experience in real life situations. Both the MSc and PG Diploma are available as online and open-learning programmes and offer students a flexible and innovative way to study. The programmes are supported by our Virtual Learning Environment as well as a series of Network Seminars which offer students face-to-face contact, input from experts in the field and opportunities to network, share work and study experiences. The programmes have been developed in close consultation with key specialists working in the industry and build on the successful CREIF programme that has been running in Asia for 8 years.

Approach to assessment
Each module is organised around six learning packages and progress is assessed through a combination of online tests, workbooks, problem-solving, analysis and report writing. Course work, assessment and feedback take place throughout each module and reflect the practical nature of the programmes. There are no formal exams.
Students will have the opportunity to attend Network Seminars throughout the programme. These will be locally based and will build on the practical approach of the programmes by incorporating sessions given by local practitioners. Students will be strongly encouraged to attend to benefit from the opportunities they offer: sharing work and study experiences; building professional networks and taking part in case-study presentations led by expert local practitioners.
How this course helps you develop
The programme intends to develop an online community for students and module leaders to share knowledge and experience in real life situations.
In addition, after the PG Diploma course, graduates would have the opportunity to take a four months training programme, Oxford Adapt, to become a chartered surveyor. The MSc course is accredited by the the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), so after the MSc course, graduates are entitled to apply for RICS graduate pathway to membership.
Free language courses for students - the Open Module
Free language courses are available to full-time undergraduate and postgraduate students on many of our courses, and can be taken as a credit on some courses.
Please note that the free language courses are not available if you are: - studying at a Brookes partner college - studying on any of our teacher education courses or postgraduate education courses.

Research areas and clusters
Many of our academic staff are involved in academic research and/or professional/commercial consultancy work. The Real Estate and Land Policy Group brings together expertise on a wide range of topics relating to the operation of land and property markets, real estate development and land and housing policy. A major part of our work is on the impact of land and housing markets/policy on broader development processes particularly for enhancing urban sustainability. This includes research themes which cover low carbon development, sustainable real estate, corporate social responsibility and urban equity. At the same time our research addresses broader market-based fundamentals such as valuation and emerging areas of research in real estate including behavioural finance. We have a strong track record of international comparative research including developing and transition economies while at the same time maintaining established areas of expertise on local and national topics.
