"The reason I chose to study at the University of Aberdeen was that I was fascinated by the long tradition and its international reputation. This gave me the chance to meet people from around the globe and to build an international network. Beside the excellent teaching condition, another reason for choosing Aberdeen was its location on the east coast of Scotland in the middle of a beautiful landscape.
The Real Estate course at the University of Aberdeen has been running for more than 20 years. Therefore, it is well known among employees and has a strong reputation. The course is well structured and gave me an understanding of all important property subjects. It includes subjects such as valuation, investment, international real estate markets and economics. All these lectures and the international focus were important for my aim to work for an international active real estate investment fund. Another reason for choosing the Real Estate course at the University of Aberdeen was the one week field trip to Madrid, which was included in the international real estate module and was one of the highlights of the course.
After graduation in August 2013 I started to work for Commerz Real AG in Wiesbaden, Germany, in October 2013. My current position is trainee in a graduate programme, which includes the work in several departments such as portfolio management, asset management, risk management or investment.
I had several job interviews and in almost every interview they told me that one of the main reasons for inviting me was the degree of the University of Aberdeen. Especially the international reputation of the Business School was crucial for my current employee, which is a worldwide active real estate investment fund".
