There is currently a severe skills shortage in the UK for quantity surveyors with expertise in mechanical and electrical installations. Qualified mechanical and electrical quantity surveyors find employment in the building sector or in specialist fields including nuclear power.
Studying this course will provide you with the skills demanded by clients who rely on a quantity surveyor’s specialist mechanical and electrical knowledge and judgement to keep a project running smoothly. This programme will equip you with a professional understanding of procurement, financial and risk management and lifecycle cost management, as they apply to the construction industry. In addition to formalising your knowledge of traditional quantity surveying, you’ll receive a solid grounding in cutting-edge
Applicants for this course must have a minimum of a second class honours degree.
We also welcome applications from students with alternative qualifications and/or professionals with significant relevant experience through our Accreditation of Prior Learning (APL) scheme.

To be eligible for this scholarship you must be applying for the first year of full-time study on an eligible postgraduate master’s programme in the 2021-22 academic year.
If you're a postgraduate applicant, you must hold an offer for an eligible programme, achieve a first-class degree and meet your offer conditions by the admission's deadline.
You may apply for this scholarship if you have already been awarded a different scholarship. However, in line with the terms and conditions, you can only receive one scholarship - the one with the highest value.
There is no separate application process for this scholarship. You will be assessed when you apply for your chosen programme of study for the 2021-22 intake. If you are successfully offered this scholarship, you must accept your offer of admission and pay your tuition fee deposit by the deadline specified in order to receive the funding.
