About the course
The Public Economics, Law, and Politics programme at Leuphana Graduate School unites disciplines that have traditionally examined the relationship between state, society and the economy. Questions, problems and solutions that ensue from this complex network of relations will be analysed from the perspective of political science, economics, and law. The causes, the contexts as well as the social and economic effects of state action are the focus of attention in this programme. We aim to provide an interdisciplinary account of how politics, law and the economy interact.

Student Profile(s)
Hluf Hagos Shiqar

My name is Hluf Hagos Shiqar and I am from Ethiopia. I studied the masters programme in Public Economics, Law and Politics at Leuphana between 2013 and 2015. Right after I returned back home from my study in Germany, I received the chance to join the Planning and Development Commission of Ethiopia where I served as an expert in international and regional economic affairs. Currently, I am working as a head of education and social statistics at the Tigray Statistics Agency in Ethiopia.
The programme at Leuphana is multidisciplinary and I do believe that it helped me in thinking about and understanding different issues in different perspectives. During my studies I was able to improve my scientific skills and I even participated in inspiring international scientific conferences such as the Lindau Nobel Laureates Meeting in Economic Sciences. I am delighted that I had the chance to study at Leuphana. I will always remember the professionalism and cooperativeness of the coordinators for international students there.
