MSc by Research in Psychology Overview

Understanding the complexities of the human mind and how we relate to the world around us remains one of science’s greatest challenges.

Our Psychology Department has an outstanding reputation both in the UK and internationally. According to the Research Excellence Framework 2014, we are one of only four psychology departments in the UK to achieve a 100% 4* rating (maximum score possible) for the reach and significance of our work.

Entry Requirements

Applicants for the MSc by Research in Psychology should have a first or a 2:1 (or equivalent) in an undergraduate degree from a UK or other approved university. Where English is not the student's first language, students are required to have a minimum of IELTS 6.5, with a minimum of 6.5 in all domains, or a University approved equivalent. Scholarships

If you hold an offer to study a taught master’s programme with us, you may be eligible to apply for up to £3,000, which will be automatically deducted from tuition fees.

Our Advancing Futures programme is more than a scholarship package; along with financial support for an academic year, you will also get the chance to gain valuable career-enhancing skills. Recipients of the Scholarship will have the opportunity to work with academics and professional service staff within the school on several events and projects.
