Course Description

Programs

The Department of Psychology has an unparalleled reputation for excellence in graduate research and education. We offer graduate education, opportunities for research, and professional training leading to an MA degree with increasing specialization at the level of the PhD degree.

MA

Each year the Department of Psychology accepts between 15 and 20 graduate students from approximately 300 applicants. The MA program is a 24-month program and admission is restricted to those who intend to continue on to the PhD program in our department.

(Scholarship)

International Tuition Award - No. of awards TBC

International Tuition Awards assist international graduate students with their tuition fees if they are registered full-time in research-oriented master’s and doctoral programs.

Value of Scholarship(s)

Up to $3,200 per annum

Eligibility

Students must hold a valid Student Authorization (Study Permit).

Application Procedure

Students do not need to apply, as all international students who are eligible are automatically considered for this scholarship. Awards are assigned on the Student Information System, and, once assigned, can be viewed by logging onto the Student Service Centre.

Entry Requirements

Admission to the M.A. program is restricted to those who intend to continue on to the Ph.D. Areas of specialization include behavioral neuroscience, clinical psychology, cognitive science, developmental psychology, health psychology, personality and social psychology, and quantitative methods. In addition, the Department offers an M.A. specialization in Human-Computer Interaction, in collaboration with the Media and Graphics Interdisciplinary Centre.
