About the course
Our Professional Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) will give you the skills to become a teacher in Further Education colleges.
This ProfGCE focuses on teaching in a variety of further education settings, including colleges, adult education centres, and community organisations. You will develop your skills and knowledge of pedagogy and gain vital classroom management skills. Full-time students will have access to placement opportunities in various subject areas, including animal care, art and design, beauty, catering, childcare, leisure and tourism, humanities, photography and sport science.
Entry Requirements
Applicants should have:
A 2:1 or above in an honours degree in a relevant subject
Level 3 qualification in a relevant subject if the degree is not in a relevant subject
GCSE English at C/4 or above, or equivalent. We accept equivalency tests from Equivalency Testing for Career Development and A Star Equivalency Testing.
Candidates must also:
Attend an interview at selection day (not applicable for distance applications)
Complete diagnostic literacy task for all applicants
Complete specialist literacy and numeracy tests for literacy/ESOL and numeracy teaching specialisms.
