This course will allow you as a practising therapist to develop advanced clinical skills in the field of sports injury management. You will learn advanced assessment and diagnostic techniques with contemporary treatment and rehabilitation methods.
You will devise specialised return to play guidelines for athletes which are specific to their sport, level and position as well as viewing the outcome based measures that are available for injury. Learning to work as part of a multi-disciplinary athlete support team is key, and as such students will be taught how to link with other professionals such as strength and conditioning coaches and sports psychologists.
You will engage in current evidence-based thinking to inform your treatment and management decisions with a view to challenging or enhancing your current clinical reasoning. The course offers some great opportunities to engage in research with elite, national and international sports teams to encourage work based research activity.
