Every MSc in Professional Computing is completely different. This is because your course is built around your current knowledge and the areas you choose to specialise in. Whether you want to focus on cloud computing, data handling, visualisation or dashboard design, it’s up to you. 

Our Professional Computing MSc is purely Distance Learning. Using our online Virtual Learning tool, you will be able to work through modules at your own pace, fitting your learning around any personal commitments you have. 

On successful completion of study, we will issue the following award: MSc Professional Computing.

Course content

Our Professional Computing MSc is part-time Distance Learning which runs over three years. The first two years cover the Certificate and Diploma stage, and the final year will be solely focused on your dissertation module.  

The first year will focus on the on a research methods refresher module and the Certificate project. Then, in the second year, you will take the Diploma project module. For the projects, you can specialise in your chosen area and typically they will have a work context.

The final year will be devoted to your MSc Dissertation. This is your chance to specialise in whatever field of computing you choose. It is supervised by one of our industry-expert academics and is a chance to showcase your knowledge and augment your career in computing.

After completing the Professional Computing MSc, you’ll be equipped to work in the following roles:
