Practice-based Education PGCert

Course Description

The Practice-based Education PGCert benefits health or social care professionals who want to develop their role as an educator in the practice setting, and earn a formal postgraduate qualification.

This course is accredited by the Higher Education Academy, of which graduates are eligible to apply for fellowship. The course is also an endorsed route for the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy’s Accreditation of Clinical Educators scheme and The College of Occupational Therapy Accreditation of Practice Learning Educators.

The course is suitable for professionals from a variety of settings who are involved in the education of health professionals, junior staff, students and patients.

You will explore the concept of learning in the practice setting, broadening your knowledge and capabilities so you are confident in your approaches to practice-based teaching.

As a student on the course, you will share your learning with a variety of health specialities, allowing you to benefit from intra-professional collaboration. Our programmes are designed to allow students from other disciplines, and in some cases other professions, the opportunity to exchange knowledge and expertise.
