I chose to study at Writtle University College as it is one of the best colleges for horticulture and other related courses in the UK. I studied for my BSc. Horticulture in my country (Iran) in 1994 and have worked for more than 10 years in different fields related to crop production. From my experience it has been very helpful to have previously obtained work experience related to my chosen subject area – this helped me immensely during research stages in my postgraduate study.
International students studying in the UK will have come from different education systems. Fortunately Writtle University College supports international students excellently and for those who need to improve their English language skills and knowledge there are teachers and advisors to help solve any problems.
I have found all levels of teaching at Writtle to be of an excellent standard and have been able to fully engage in the institution. Following on from the completion of my course new aspects of Horticulture have opened up to me. I have already been offered a number of opportunities to work within different companies and research centres.
