Welcome to the MSc Physician Associate Studies programme at Hull York Medical School. This intensive two-year professional Masters programme is designed to train future medical professionals to deliver confident and compassionate care as Physician Associates. Taught by experienced clinicians, you will learn to diagnose and treat patients, working alongside multi-disciplinary teams. Your learning will be centered around problem-based learning, clinical skills, and procedural skills, all supported by placements in hospitals and GP surgeries across the Yorkshire and Humber region. On successful completion, you will be eligible to sit the National Licensing Examination and begin your practice as a Physician Associate. Entry requirements include a relevant Biosciences degree with at least a 2:1 classification.

Entry Requirements

You must have at least a 2:1 in a relevant Biosciences Degree (for example, Biomedical, Biological or Medical Sciences, Biochemistry, Sports Sciences, Pharmacology), or be predicted to achieve this at the time of application. Applicants must have GCSE Mathematics at Grade C and English at Grade B, or equivalent. Alternative entry qualifications may also be considered.

You will need to demonstrate a sufficient grounding in Chemistry either through your degree, or A-levels to successfully engage with the pharmacological aspects of the programme.
