The School offers a unique interdisciplinary research degree programme, made possible by the collaboration between the three internationally excellent PPE departments.
As a research student within the School, you are affiliated to the department of your main supervisor, and will have access to the facilities and teaching opportunities from that department. You will usually follow a programme of study offered by your home department, in agreement with your supervisor. Further information about the opportunities for research students can be found on the departmental websites: -Economics research students -Philosophy research students -Politics research students
You will also normally (but not necessarily) have a second supervisor in one of the other departments, depending on the interdisciplinary nature of your research. In addition, you can take modules from the other departments, as appropriate for your individual training needs and the needs of your project.
Each student has a thesis advisory panel which meets at least twice a year and reports on progress.
The registration period for the MPhil is 2 years full-time and 4 years part-time.
In addition to the facilities in the three departments, there is office space available for research students within the School itself.
