Course overview

This course shares a common first year (semesters one and two) with our MA Human Resource Management (MA HRM). You need not decide whether to pursue the Diploma or MA until the end of semester two.

The MA HRM route adds an extra semester to the course, extending it to four semesters. MA HRM students take two additional modules, Learning and Talent Development and Cross- Cultural Management and Leadership, and replace the Management Research Report with a longer Consultancy Project.

Throughout the course, you will be encouraged to take a critical perspective on current theory and practice, to analyse complex problems and devise creative solutions to them, and to develop the skills needed to conduct research into HR management issues. You will be expected to take responsibility for your own learning, to contribute to the learning of others and to be a reflective practitioner. The course meets the Advanced Level knowledge requirements of the CIPD for associate professional membership.

Career options

If you’re working in human resources, our course will help you to enhance your ability in your current job role and prepare you for promotion.
