Course content

If you want to train as an economist or establish an economics foundation for broader options in the financial sector, our Economics PG Diploma is an excellent choice.

This course will give you a thorough training in economics and all the skills you need to become a modern professional economist.

This diploma course is intended as a bridge between your first degree and postgraduate study and can lead to entry onto the MSc Scottish Graduate Programme in Economics. It is a particularly good fit if you’ve previously only had limited experience in economics but wish to study it at postgraduate level.

Dundee’s Economics department is considered among Britain’s top 10 by The Guardian (2016), and the University is rated the best in Scotland by some of the most influential Higher Education surveys. The Economic Studies team are all actively engaged in research and draw on this work in their teaching. Many of the modern debates which students will be considering are those in which their teachers have made an active contribution.

We welcome students from the UK and elsewhere in the world to our stimulating, supportive, friendly and well-organised campus. All economics students will be welcomed to our Business Society, which arranges an event calendar, annual ball and career presentations from institutions such as the Government Economic Service, the Scottish Executive and the Bank of England.

Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF)
