Do you want to teach at primary level in Scotland? If you are interested in primary teaching you may be interested in a programme which combines all the essential aspects of teacher training and combines online learning with face to face activities during your weekend to allow you to travel to University of Aberdeen from a wider local authority catchment area to study here.

This PGDE programme is taught by distance and on campus Saturday workshops and it is specific to individuals who live or work in Angus, Aberdeen City, Aberdeenshire, Moray or Highland. You will get a full time placement within these authority areas if you qualify for this PGDE study programme. You study by blended learning which is a mix of online learning and face to face activities on a weekend. You are assessed by written course work and you are asked to produce around 3000 words. You learn and apply your knowledge by taking placements with a combination of student and tutor observations to report on progress.

Primary teaching is a hugely rewarding profession to be involved in and you have the opportunity to help every child reach their true potential in life. University of Aberdeen also offers a further primary teacher training route and other educational programmes which allow you to study and practice in both Scotland, England and the rest of the UK.

There are specific entry requirements to train to teach which include a level of attainment in English and Maths which you can find out about on your programme page
