My name’s Annabel and I’m from Derby originally and I’ve just completed the postgraduate certificate in clinical supervision.
How did UDOL allow you to balance work and study?
My week is really busy now because I have 2 roles that I work in and so the whole point of me wanting to study online was because I had the flexibility to be able to study at my own pace, whatever day I could find to really sit down and do some work and so for me that’s why I engaged in online supervision as a training qualification and it was helpful as well because sometimes I couldn’t complete the work as much as I’d like to but I was able to back the week after and complete the work that I wasn’t able to and I felt like the tutors were really supportive of that. They understood that we’re professionals working full-time and that it’s not always easy to engage in every learning activity possible but that we have to take accountability to that and to make sure that we step up to the challenge and complete the work that we need to to succeed.
What has gaining your degree from UDOL meant for your career?
Although I’m a qualified counselling psychotherapist, I now feel confident supporting my supervisees in a clinical supervisory role and I feel like it’s going to develop my career path further within my private practice and I also hope to be able to deliver clinical supervision maybe within a voluntary sector or within the NHS as well.
