This course covers the principles of Modern Language teaching, producing an effective classroom environment and how to work in the field of education.
Centred around the United Nations Convention of the Rights of the Child, this degree has a rigorous academic programme. There is a human element to the course which encourages individuality and communication. In the past, trainees have achieved 100% good to outstanding at the end of their placements and there is a very high employment rate. Department for Education bursaries are available for this course.
Entry Requirements
Entry requirements:
- a UK degree, preferably grade 2.2/equivalent, in your chosen language. For candidates with an alternative degree at the required level, you should be a native speaker and/or have spent a significant time in a country where this language is spoken.
- literacy and numeracy tests (university-based tests undertaken at interview)
- a valid Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) certificate and Confirmation of Fitness to Teach
- GCSE English and Mathematics grade C/grade 4 or above (or equivalent)
Candidates with third class degrees may be considered, particularly if supported by a completed Master's degree/relevant work experience.
