PGCE Primary Mathematics Specialist with QTS

Edge Hill University Faculty of Education

Full time September PGCE 1 year full-time

About the course

The presence of a mathematics specialist in every primary school, who will champion this challenging subject, was a key recommendation of the Williams Report, 2008.

This PGCE provides you with a high-quality initial teacher education experience. It will prepare you to teach the whole national curriculum across the 5-11 age range in key stages 1 and 2 while developing a specific specialism in primary mathematics education. Spending a significant amount of time undertaking professional practice placements in schools and other educational settings, you will be supported in meeting the Teachers’ Standards, gaining the professional skills, knowledge, understanding and attitudes necessary for a successful two-year as an early career teacher.
