PG Dip Infection Control

Course Description

An advanced qualification designed to equip nurses and other healthcare professionals with a comprehensive understanding of infectious disease control and prevention in hospital, social care and community settings. The course examines key areas including microbiology, immunology, public health and communicable disease control. Graduates can pursue a rewarding career in many areas, or progress on to study for a full MSc in Infection Control.

Entry Requirements

There are two entry routes available for this exciting course. The “Academic Entry Route” usually requires a minimum of 2 years’ post-registration experience and access to a clinical microbiology department, plus an Upper Second Class Bachelors degree in a relevant or appropriate subject, or the equivalent from an internationally recognised institution. The “Open Entry Route” considers a student’s application based on its individual merits. IELTS (Academic) 6.5 or equivalent is also required if English is not a student’s first language.
