Course content

The core modules of the course provide a platform for you to develop the knowledge, critical thinking and ability to applying theory to practice. This part of the course will enable the acquisition of threshold concepts and models, develop your people management and development skills, enhance your understanding of the principles of professional and ethical practice, and allow you to explore tools and techniques for influencing others. The raising of awareness for and understanding of metrics, analytics and data will give you the skills needed for reading and interpret data from a people management and development perspective.

You will be able to select from a range of optional modules which match to your interests or career needs. This may be a particular path you wish to follow, for example either a management orientated route with a focus on reward, performance and resourcing, or an employment focused route with topics such as employment law and employee relations. If you want a broader approach, then you can pick from the range of modules. Finally, you will be engaged in a dissertation project on a relevant topic of interest to you or to your area of practice.
