Today, the number of skilled GIST professionals remains limited and market opportunities abound for those capable of working with complex data and sophisticated applications. The USC College GIST faculty focus on providing students with core science education and tailored practical applications that they can use in their professional and research careers. GIST graduates have the advanced knowledge and techniques to develop their own GIS applications, rather than merely being schooled in the use of software.
Applicants must have a B.A. or B.S. degree and a minimum 3.0 GPA for all undergraduate work. Preference may be accorded to candidates with GPS/GIS professional experience. The GIST Master of Science and Graduate Certificate Programs offer rolling admission and enrollment in the fall, spring or summer semesters. Students may start either program in any semester.
Recipient: University of Southern California
