Assessment

In the six main taught modules you will usually be set two assignments, one to be completed during the teaching period of the module, and the second assignment completed after the end of the module.  You’ll be assessed through a range of assignment tasks resulting in the presentation of essays, reports, portfolios and presentations enabling you to develop the skills to master a multitude of business situations.

In the Management Learning and Research module, the assessment will be by means of two main assignments. Firstly a comparative methodological critique of two research studies (1 qualitative and 1 quantitative) of 2000 - 2500 words, weighted at 50% of your overall mark for the module. The second module is a Research Proposal that comprises two elements. The first of these is a written Research Proposal (2000 words worth 40% of your overall module mark) and a narrated PowerPoint Presentation (1000 words worth 10% of your module mark).

The final module, the Business Research Project, is assessed through the production of an 8,000-9,000 word research report (90% 0f the total module marks, on a management subject area of your own choice), and a summary of the aims, process, findings and recommendations of the research suitable for communicating with a business audience (1,000 words equivalency), worth 10% of the total module marks. This summary will be in a format of the student’s own choice - for example, an article, a website, video, series of PowerPoint slides, a poster or a brochure. Throughout the Business Research Project you will have the support of an individual supervisor.
