This course, previously called Health Through Occupation, enhances the clinical practice of occupational therapists. Integrated within the university's Graduate Programme in Health and Social Science, the course provides valuable cross-disciplinary experience through common modules shared with other courses in the scheme.
Course structure: The course is designed to meet the needs of professionals in the areas of health and social care. To be awarded the MSc in Occupational Therapy you need to complete 2 core modules, 1 research methods module, 3 optional modules and a dissertation. Teaching methods include lectures, seminars, group tutorials, workshops and on-line learning, assessment being by the method most appropriate to the subject.

Career and progression opportunities: Career opportunities include clinical specialist and consultant occupational therapist. Opportunities also exist for further study at MPhil and PhD level.
It is possible to take modules for this course as single stand-alone modules, either as a sample of Masters level study, or as part of your continuing professional development.
BSc Occupational Therapy or equivalent plus post-registration experience in a clinical setting. Two references and evidence of qualifications are required. Interviews are usually held either in person or by phone. For students whose first language is not English, we require IELTS 6.5 over all with 6 in written skills (or an equivalent English as a Foreign Language qualification).
