Obesity Care and Management (MSc/PGDip/PGCert)

Course Description

Please note this course is offered via The College of Contemporary Health

Designed for healthcare professionals, to advance your career in obesity care and management, the most prominent distinguishing feature of this course is the fact that it is delivered wholly online.

The modules in the Postgraduate Certificate in Obesity Care and Management critically review the latest research on obesity in order to prepare students to deal with the complexity of the condition, whilst ensuring a compassionate approach to dealing with those people requiring obesity care. The modules in the Postgraduate Diploma build on these skills whilst also allowing for specialisation in a particular area so that students may further develop their professional practice. You will then have the opportunity progress to the MSc where you can undertake an original research-based enquiry, in an area of personal interest, relevant to your specific area of professional practice.

All material is evidence-based and referenced using the latest research material. Current practice guidelines are taken from professional bodies including the Royal College of Physicians, Royal College of Nursing, British Psychological Society, the Academy of Royal Medical Colleges, the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE), and Public Health England (PHE). Comparisons are also made with guidelines in other countries to ensure students are acquainted with best practice from across the globe.
