The MSc Nursing Leadership course will allow you to examine contemporary nursing issues from a leadership perspective. Available to nurses who hold a registration in the UK or another country, this course offers an exciting mix of theory and practical application through the use of enquiry-based learning and workshops where a range of table top exercises and simulation will be utilised to develop your practical skills and knowledge.
Two course options are available: an intensive 12-month programme beginning in September or a 20-month course that commences in January with a break between June and August to provide the opportunity for you to undertake a placement or study abroad should you wish.

Teaching And Assessment
This course will allow you to develop a range of specialist skills such as research and analysis, practice development and clinical judgement, in addition to advanced analytical skills to allow you to evaluate current care and services or propose alternative options.
You will study a broad range of subjects including leadership in transformational services, theories and health related evidence, nursing practice and knowledge, research skills and systematic appraisal of published nursing research.
Learning and teaching strategies such as lectures, seminars, experiential learning and problem solving exercises will be utilised throughout your studies, all of which will be assessed via a mix of diagnostic evaluations, case studies, assignments and presentations.
You will also complete a final dissertation under the close guidance of our academic team.

This course is based at our Coach Lane campus, which houses our Clinical Skills Centre – a purpose-built facility that will allow you to develop practical skills and gain valuable experience of real hospital situations through a simulated environment.
Our facilities are some of the most advanced in the country and allow us to ensure your learning evolves in-line with the latest developments in the industry.
Technology is embedded throughout all aspects of your degree and you will receive ongoing support through our innovative e-learning platform, Blackboard, where you can access module handbooks, assessment information, lecture presentation slides and reading lists. Key lectures will also be recorded to allow you to listen again.
If English is not your first language you will also have access to the English for Specific Academic Purposes (ESAP) programmes to help you develop your English language, academic writing and study skills.
