The National Award for SEN Coordination - PGCert is a masters-level programme designed for education professionals currently working as SENCOs in schools. The programme offers a combination of face-to-face and online learning, with knowledgeable tutors who have experience as former SENCOs. Entry requirements include a 1st or 2nd class honours degree, although students with other qualifications may also be considered.

About the course

This masters-level programme (60 credits) enables education professionals currently employed as SENCOs in a school setting to enhance provision and outcomes for all children, especially those with special educational needs and/or disability, and develop themselves as a leader of change within their setting.

Since 2009, all newly appointed SENCOs must attain this qualification within three years of appointment. This course is designed for existing holders of the SENco post, both new or experienced, to develop their professional practice.
