Musculoskeletal (MSK) disorders are a prevalent and major cause of ill health and physical disability in the UK as well as globally. They can reduce quality of life; impacting on family and relationships, as well as limiting capacity to work. This is a growing area of healthcare which takes up 30% of UK GP caseloads.
The Musculoskeletal Management programme will provide medical and health professionals with the knowledge and skills to assess, triage and care for patients with MSK conditions; to apply the clinical theory, practice and associated research in the prevention, assessment and management of MSK conditions within contemporary healthcare. Must hold MBBS/ MBChB qualification or relevant professional healthcare qualification/ registration with Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) or relevant regulatory body e.g. Qualified Physiotherapist registered with HCPC.
Medical students who have completed a minimum of 3 years MBChB or MBBS are also eligible to apply.
Be actively engaged in, or have access to, clinical experience in musculoskeletal practice in order to support learning within the programme.
Have sufficient competency in English language (IELTS Level 6.5 or equivalent)
